COLUMBIA, Mo. - With the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championships in College Station, Tx., a mere week away, the Tigers are set to close out the regular season on Friday as they host the Collegiate Challenge.  Events will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Hearnes Center with the women's weight throw and 4x800-meter relays.

Included on the roster for the meet is current NCAA leader in the shot put, junior Kearsten Peoples.  Peoples broke her own Missouri School Record in the shot put last weekend at the Tyson Invitational, winning the event in 17.51m (57-5.5).  She also holds a top ten spot in the NCAA (No. 8) for the weight throw, and is No. 3 in the SEC.  Her top mark in the weight throw came at the Wisconsin v. Missouri Dual in January, where she broke her own School record with a winning toss of 21.18m (69-6).

Joining her in the ring are fellow All-Time Top Ten members in the shot put, junior Jill Rushin (No. 2) and senior Katie Evans (No. 6).  Both women also find themselves in the SEC rankings, falling within the top ten with the No. 3 and No. 5 positions, respectively.

Other events to watch out for include the women's 60-meter dash, which will feature current Missouri School Record holder, sophomore Chelsie Stevens, and the No. 8 performer on the All-Time Top Ten list, freshman Lynnsey Brim.  In the 200-meter dash, current No. 4 performer, sophomore Jacqueline Obi, will grace the track, while the women's pole vault will feature three of the current Top Ten list members: junior Katrine Haarklau (No. 2), junior Maggie Givens (No. 3), and freshman Alyssa Applebee (No. 8).

On the men's side, the pair of All-Time Top Ten performers, Jonathan Ilori and Tony Carodine, will hit the runway for the triple jump.  The sophomores currently claim the No. 4 and No. 6 spots, respectively.  Rounding out the day's record book members will be sophomore Kyle Smith, who is currently sitting at No. 2 on the 60-meter hurdles list.
