Lee, Bales Finish Up Tigers' Run at Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. - University of Missouri junior Krishna Lee (Kansas City, Mo.) and former Tiger Amanda Bales (Bettendorf, Iowa) took part in the fifth day of the USATF Olympic Team Trials late Friday in Eugene, Ore. Lee took 18th of 20 in the women's shot put while Bales finished the 1500 in 28th. Tonight completed the run of current and former Tigers in the USA Olympic Trials for track & field.

Lee, in her first U.S. Championship, took 18th among the 20-person field, throwing 49 feet, 7¼ inches (15.12m). Lee also qualified for the NCAA Championships with the shot earlier this year.

Bales clocked 4:32.71 for 28th of 29. Bales ran in the trials despite being involved in a car accident a few weeks ago.

The run by current and former Missouri athletes has completed at the Olympic Trials.

Tiger sophomore Nick Adcock (Kansas City, Mo.) was selected to represent Team USA in the men's decathlon at the NACAC (North American) Under-23 Championships that will be held July 18-20 in Toluca, Mexico, and that will continue Mizzou's season.

Tiger post-collegian Christian Cantwell (Eldon, Mo.) will compete in the Beijing Olympics on August 15 with both qualifying rounds and the final for the men's shot put being held on the first day of athletics competition.
