Des Moines, Ia. - It was another hot day at Drake Stadium as the USATF Championships continued for the Tigers with performances from sophomores Kearsten Peoples and Jill Rushin in the Senior Women's Shot Put.  Both closed out their seasons against a stellar field, with Peoples coming out in sixth, Rushin in 14th.

This is the second consecutive sixth-place finish for Peoples, as she placed the same at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, OR, two weeks ago.  The Missouri School Record holder earned her second All-American honor in the event with a throw of 17.04m (55-10.75).  She bested that mark today with a top throw of 17.16m (56-3.75) on her first attempt.

Senior Malcolm Pennix will close out the weekend, and the season, for the Tigers tomorrow with the Senior Men's Long Jump.  For the latest on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
