EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Hailey Twietmeyer was the sole Tiger competitor on day one of the NCAA Finals as she took on the javelin in her final competition in the black and gold.  Twietmeyer placed 15th in the field on Wednesday, matching her ranking heading into the championship meet.

Twietmeyer had an exciting series, improving throw-to-throw throughout the competition before ending with a top mark of 47.66m (156-4).  She leaves her mark in the Missouri Record Books as not only the school record holder in the event, but also as the first female javelin thrower in program history to advance to the NCAA Finals.

Events at the Historical Hayward Field will continue Thursday with freshman Kaitlyn Fischer making her NCAA Outdoor Championships debut in the 10,000-meter run.For the latest on your Tigers, stay tuned to MUTigers.com and follow the team on Twitter @MIZ_TrackField.
