2004:
Outdoor: Placed third at the Tom Botts decathlon (4,945) ... scored a new personal best in the discus at the Missouri Relays with a toss of 113-7 (34.63m).
Indoor: Redshirt season.
2003:
Outdoor: Finished 12th in the conference meet in the decathlon with a personal best score of 5,681 points ... best scoring of the season came from high jump event in which his season high of 6-5 coming at the Drake Relays, earned him 767 points for the event.
Indoor: In the conference meet, once again finished 12th after scoring 4,416 points in the heptathlon.
2002:
Outdoor: Finished 12th in the decathlon at the Big 12 Championships.
Indoor: Competed in the heptathlon at the Big 12 Conference Meet, finishing with 4,260 points.
2001:
Outdoor: Redshirt season.
Indoor: Saw limited action in his first season ... had a season-best high jump at MU-KSU-KU Triangular (6-3.25), good for sixth place ... also participated in the pentathlon at the Tiger Invitational
High School:
Achieved his current personal best in the high jump of 6-7 at the 4A MSHSAA Track and Field Championships in 2000 ... all-state in the high jump in 1999 and 2000 for the Jays ... finished fourth in class rank of a class of 488.
Personal:
Son of Robb & Diane Vrbicek ... majoring in mechanical engineering ... a devout Christian, Ben wants to be a part of the Christian Ministry later in his life ... worked as an intern for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) last summer ... several time Academic All-Big 12 ... will get married in late May to former Tiger thrower Brooke Ennen ... born October 23, 1981 in Columbia, Mo.
