Sirena Williams took over as the Director of Operations in the fall of 2013. She came to Mizzou fromTiffin University where she served as an Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field Coach since August 2011. Williams brings with her a wealth of experience in running a successful track & field program from multiple perspectives. While at Tiffin, she split her coaching responsibilities with work as the office manager, NCAA Compliance Coordinator, recruiting coordinator, and academic coordinator, proving herself a valuable addition on a variety of levels.
Prior to Tiffin, Williams was at Feather River College in Quincy, CA, where she was instrumental in beginning the women's cross country and track & field program. Before Feather River, Williams shared her coaching talents with four high schools in Maryland, while also working as an Operations Supervisor at Team Broadcast Services. As the Operations Supervisor, Williams was responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the various technicians, working with the scheduling and assignments of staff members, and overseeing personnel to ensure they were meeting the demands of the broadcast operations.
Williams competed for the Univ. of Connecticut, focusing on the sprint and hurdle events. She graduated in 2001 with a B.A. in Mass Communications Processes, and went on to earn her M.B.A. in Sports Management at Tiffin University. She holds the NCAA DII Coaching Certificate, is USATF Level II Certified for the sprints, hurdles, and relay events, and is a USATF National Level Certified Official.
