Indoor Track- Came away from the indoor season with a new personal record of 16.00m (52-6) in the weight throw, good to earn her fourth at the Illini Classic...Her second-best throw of 15.92m (52-2.75) at the MU KU Dual Meet was good for third-place overall.
Outdoor Track- Bethany had a successful outdoor season, posting two more PR's in the javelin and hammer throw...The first of these came at the ESU Mid-Week Open, where she marked a 45.16m (148-2) finish in the javelin to win the event...Her hammer PR was at the Big 12 Championships, where she finished 13th with a toss of 53.23m (174-8)...She went on to compete in the javelin at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds, finishing with a throw of 41.98m (137-8.75).
Indoor Track- Competed in the weight throw during the indoor season, marking a new personal-record toss of 15.35m (50-4.25) at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge to place seventh...Her second-best throw came at the KU MU Dual, where she finished seventh with a mark of 14.90m (48-10.5).
Outdoor Track- Competed in the javelin and hammer throw during the outdoor season, finishing at the NCAA Preliminary Round where she threw 37.99m (124-7.75) in the javelin...Also competed in both events at the Big 12 Championships, finishing 14th in the hammer with a season-best toss of 48.83m (160-2.5), and 10th in the javelin with another season-best mark of 38.97m (127-10.25).
Indoor Track- Competed in the weight throw for her two meets of the season...Threw 12.77m (41-10.75) at the Missouri Invitational, followed up by a 14.63m (48-0) performance at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge to place seventh.
Outdoor Track- Did not compete.
Competed at Boonville R-I HS for coach Steve Smith...She was a volleybal player throughout high school, but was encouraged to participate in track and field as a javelin thrower at the collegiate level...She was All-Conference (2005-2008), All-District (2006-2008), All-Regional (2006-2008), and All-State (2007-2008) for volleyball...Also earned team MVP (2006-2008)...Was a middle blocker and a setter as a 15-year-old on the Viper Club Volleyball team out of Columbia, MO...That team played in a variety of nationwide tournaments, including the Asics/Tampa Bay Big South National Qualifier...Was na Academic All-State honoree on the volleyball circuit as well...Also played basketball throughout high school, making All-Conference (2006-2007).
Parents are Richard and Monica...Born October 18, 1990 in Columbia, MO...Earned the 2009 Presidential Academic Fitness Award, the George Washington Carver Award (2009), was a member of the National Honors Society (2007-2009) and served as Student Council Body Treasurer (2008-2009)...She has spend six semesters on the College of Arts & Sciences Dean's List...Is a Curator's Scholar Award honoree...Earned the Heyssel Scholarship, the Francis Breeze Memorial Scholarship, Ruth Earline Allen Scholarship, and the Duane M. Weisse Scholarship...Member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team (2012)...Is working toward degrees in Mathematics and Psychology.
