Domenik Peterson will join the Mizzou Track & Field staff for the 2009 season as a volunteer assistant coach. Peterson, a six-time All-American while at Arizona State, will work with the team's sprinters.
Peterson, a native of Jefferson City, Mo., was twice an All-American indoors at 200 meters, scoring a fourth-place national finish his freshman year as a Sun Devil in 2004. He repeated the feat in 2005, clocking a personal best 20.43 in the heats. Peterson was also a member of four national-scoring relays.
Peterson, a four-time Pac-10 Champion and three-time Pac-10 Athlete of the Week, also clocked a personal best 45.15 at 400 meters in 2005. In 2004, Peterson was a 200-meter semifinalist at USATF Olympic Trials in Sacramento.
Peterson graduated from Jefferson City High School where he was a seven-time MSHSAA Class 4 Champion and pacer of three state records. He was also the recipient of Gatorade's Athlete of the Year award for the state of Missouri in 2003.
Peterson earned a bachelor's degree in German Education from Arizona State in 2007.
