2011/2012:

Indoor Track- Brooks earned two more personal-record marks during the indoor season, as well as another All-Big 12 honor in the shot put...His first PR came at the Bill Bergan Invitational, where he threw 18.40m (60-4.5) in the shot put to win the event...He also the shot put competitions at the MU KU Dual Meet, Illini Classic, and Missouri Collegiate Challenge, throwing 17.21m (56-5.5), 17.98m (58-11.75), and 17.79m (58-4.5), respectively...His next PR performance was in the weight throw, when he threw 16.85m (55-3.5) at the Texas A&M Invitational to claim eighth-place...Participated in the weight throw and shot put competitions at the Big 12 Championships, throwing a mark of 18.33m (60-1.5) in the shot put to place fourth.

Outdoor Track- Once again qualified for the NCAA Championships Preliminary Round in the shot put after throwing a season-best mark of 17.96m (58-11) at the Big 12 Championships to earn sixth-place and another All-Big 12 honor...He finished 19th at the Preliminary Round with a throw of 17.57m (57-7.75)...Also participated in the discus and hammer competitions at the Big 12 Championships, just missing out on a discus All-Big 12 after throwing 52.24m (171-4.75) to place ninth, a season-best...He hit a new PR mark of 55.11m (180-10) in the hammer throw at the CMU Open to place second overall.

2010/2011:

Indoor Track- Competed in both the weight throw and shot put during the indoor season, and just missed All-Big 12 honors in the shot put after throwing 17.05m (55-11.25) to place ninth...His season-best mark in the shot put came at the Iowa State Classic where he finished fifth with a toss of 17.72m (58-1.5)...Threw a personal-best of 15.85m (52-0) in the weight throw at the Missouri Invitational.

Outdoor Track- Brooks qualified for the NCAA Championships Preliminary Round in the shot put and discus after turning in personal-best marks of 17.81m (58-5.25) and 53.86m (176-8.5), respectively...His season-best shot put performance came at the Kip Janvrin Open, and was good enough to win the event...He also won the discus with a throw of 52.47m (172-1.75)...His best discus throw put him just shy of another All-Big 12 honor with a ninth-place finish...He did, however, earn an All-Big 12 honor in the shot put with an eighth-place throw of 16.97m (55-8).

2009/2010:

Indoor Track- In his first year as a Tiger, Brooks earned an All-Big 12 honor after finishing eighth in the shot put with a toss of 16.93m (55-6.5)...Saw his marks progress from 15.42m (50-7.25) at the beginning of the season, an improvement of almost five feet...His mark at the Big 12 Championship was an almost-two foot improvement than his previous season-best, a mark of 16.48m (54-1) set at the Bill Bergan Invitational...Another notable throw came at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, where he tossed 16.29m (53-5.5)...He also competed in the weight throw throughout the season, turning in a season-best mark of 14.78m (48-6) at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge.

Outdoor Track- Continued his outstanding freshman year with another All-Big 12 honor, finishing seventh in the shot put with a throw of 16.74m (54-11.25)...That mark was another significant season-best...He also competed in the discus at the Big 12 Championships, finishing 15th with a throw of 47.86m (157-0)...His season-best mark in the discus came at the Arkansas Twilight, where he turned in an effort of 49.56m (162-7), good for seventh overall...His second-best shot put mark of the season also came at the Arkansas Twilight, as he placed third with a throw of 16.27m (53-4.5).

High School:

Competed at Lee's Summit West HS for coach Bob Klausing...Led his team to a second-place finish at the 2009 MSHSAA State Championships, as well as four Conference titles (2006-2009)...As an individual, Brooks was a three-time Conference, District, and Sectional Champion in shot put, and a four-time discus Conference champion...He was a three-time MSHSAA State Champion in the shot put, and three-time bronze medalist in the discus...Off the track, he was also a successful football player, helping his team to a State Championship title in 2007...He was also recognized as First Team All-Conference and All-District Defensive End (2009)...Brooks also participated in basketball for three years in high school...High School bests are 18.33m (60-1.75) in the shot put and 55.98m (183-8) in the discus.

Personal:

Parents are Kirt and Lori...Born July 7, 1990 in Kansas City, MO...Was on honor roll every year in HS...Multiple Academic All-Big 12 student-athlete (2010-2012)...He was on the Trulaske Business School's Dean's List junior year (2011/2012)...Comes from an athletic family, with an uncle who played for the Broncos and Patriots, as well as other relatives in Minor League Baseball and D1 football...Brooks, along with track & field, enjoys playing country club sports, mainly tennis and golf...He is studying Business Finance at Missouri.
