Shaylee Marr is entering her second year as an Assistant Coach with the Mizzou Tigers' Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Upon her arrival in the fall of 2012 Marr immediately began playing a major role in the success of the cross country program, helping the men's squad to a third-place team finish at the SEC Championships and six individual All-SEC finishers, including three freshmen on the All-SEC Freshman Team. The Tigers were the only team to put nine of their ten runners in the top 40 of the field, showing an impressive degree of depth. Marr ended her first season on staff at Mizzou with an All-Region honor and 56th-place finisher at the NCAA Championships in Max Storms.
Marr continued to impact the development of the Tigers' middle distance and distance athletes during the indoor season, including seeing a new school record of 4:34.59 in the mile by Laura Roxberg. Roxberg went on to finish second in the mile at the SEC Championships and qualifiy for the NCAA Indoor National Championships, earning Second Team All-American honors.
During the outdoor season, Marr mentored two more Missouri School Record holders, as Dan Quigley and Laura Roxberg both broke their previous records in the 5,000m and 1500m, respectively. Roxberg once again earned All-SEC honors with a third-place finish at the Championships, and both went on to compete at the NCAA Championships. Quigley earned Second Team All-American while Roxberg finished for an Honorable Mention All-American honor.

Marr came to Mizzou from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, where she earned her B.S. in Exercise Science. Marr (then Shaylee Vanderbaan) competed for the Lakers from 2007-11 and was a member of the 2010-11 National Championships "Triple Crown" program, winning national titles in cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. She was a five-time NCAA Championships individual qualifier, All-Region finisher, and an eight-time All-GLIAC Conference competitor.
Marr completed the USATF Level I Coaching Certification, and also holds the USTFCCCA Program Management Certification and Endurance Event Specialist Certification. She currently resides in Columbia with her husband, Derek Marr.
