2012-13
Indoor Track- Markesh's freshman year was one for the record books as he came away from the indoor season with a new Missouri School Record, an SEC title, and All-American finish...He wasted no time getting to work, as he kicked off the year with a School Record tying performance in the 60m dash at the Missouri Invitational, winning the event in 6.70...He went on to break the record for the first of four times this season, taking the win at the Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial Meet in 6.69...He had a pair of impressive performances at the Tyson Invitational, running a PR of 6.66 in the prelims, then hitting 6.63 in the finals for 3rd overall...His final record-breaking performance came at the SEC Championships, where he became the first Tiger Track & Field athlete to win an SEC title with his 6.60 performance...Ended out the season with an All-American finish at the NCAA Championships, crossing the line in 6.66

Outdoor Track- Markesh continued his string of impressive performances during the outdoor season, landing in the record books as the No. 3 All-Time performer in the 100m dash and the No. 9 All-Time performer in the 200m dash...Both PR performances came at the SEC Championships, where he earned an All-SEC honor in the 100m dash with his 10.18 performance, and placed 11th in the 200m dash in 21.10...He was also a member of the Tigers' 4x100m relay team which placed 10th at the SEC Championships...Markesh went on to place 4th in the 100m dash at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, stamping his ticket to the NCAA Championships where he earned a Second Team All-American honor with his 10th-place finish...He was the fastest freshman at the National Championships with his wind-aided mark of 10.12

Competed at Fountain Fort Carson HS for coach Keith Smith...Helped his team to two State Championship titles...As an individual, Markesh was State Championship runner-up in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x200m (2010)...In 2011, he was State Champion in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x200m...Was All-State in the 100m and State Champion in the 4x100m and 4x200m his senior season (2012)...Markesh was an All-American athlete in high school, and won Colorado Athlete of the Week and Colorado Athlete of the Year...High School bests are 10.45 (100m), 21.19 (200m), and 49.68 (400m).
