Indoor Track - Markesh continued breaking records into his sophomore season with the Tigers, adding his name to the top of the record board for the 200m dash with a 21.13 finish at the Tyson Invitational...He started his season, though, with a pair of wins in the 60m dash at the Missouri Opener (6.69) and Wisconsin v. Missouri Dual (6.79)...At the Rod McCravy Memorial, where he broke the 60m dash record for the first time during his freshman year, Markesh placed second in the 60m dash with a top time of 6.65...He followed that up with a season's best of 6.60 at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, tying his school record time in the event and placing second overall...Ended his season at the SEC Championships, placing seventh in the 60m dash.
Outdoor Track - Markesh kicked off the outdoor season with a series of relays, placing fourth with the 4x400m team at the Missouri Relays before competing as a member of the 4x100m and 4x200m teams at Penn Relays...His first open 100m dash came at the Penn Relays, where he finished 11th overall with a final time of 10.69...Placed first in the 100m at the Tom Botts Invitational (10.41) before going on to don the black and gold at the SEC Championships, where he crossed in 10th for the 100m dash...Ended his season at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, hitting a season's best 10.35 in the 100m dash, placing 20th overall in the field.

Indoor Track - Markesh's freshman year was one for the record books, as he came away from the indoor season with a new Missouri School Record, an SEC title, and All-American finish...He wasted no time getting to work, as he kicked off the year with a school record-tying performance in the 60m dash at the Missouri Invitational, winning the event in 6.70...He went on to break the record for the first of four times that season, taking the win at the Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial Meet in 6.69...He had a pair of impressive performances at the Tyson Invitational, running a PR of 6.66 in the prelims, then hitting 6.63 in the finals for third overall...His final record-breaking performance came at the SEC Championships, where he became the first Tiger Track & Field athlete to win an SEC title with his 6.60 performance, and was named the SEC Freshman Runner of the Year for his efforts...Ended out the season with an All-American finish at the NCAA Championships, crossing the line in 6.66.
Outdoor Track - Markesh continued his string of performances during the outdoor season, landing in the record books as the No. 3 All-Time performer in the 100m dash and No. 9 All-Time in the 200m dash...Both PR performances came at the SEC Championships, where he earned an All-SEC honor in the 100m dash with his 10.18 finish, and placed 11th in the 200m dash with a final time of 21.10...He was also a member of the Tigers' 4x100m relay team which placed 10th at the SEC Championships...Markesh went on to place fourth in the 100m dash at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, stamping his ticket to the NCAA Championships where he earned a Second Team All-American honor with his 10th-place crossing...He was the fastest freshman at the National Championships with his wind-aided mark of 10.12.

Markesh competed at Fountain Fort Carson HS for coach Keith Smith...Helped his team to two State Championship titles...As an individual, Markesh was State Championship runner-up in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x200m (2010)...In 2011, he was the State Champion in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x200m...Was All-State in the 100m and State Champion in the 4x100m and 4x200m his senior season (2012)...Markesh was an All-American athlete in high school, and won Colorado Athlete of the Week and Colorado Athlete of the Year awards.
