IndoorTrack- Started the season with a PR in the weight throw, marking in at 17.20m (56-5.25) to place seventh in the competition...Competed in both the weight throw and shot put throughout the season...Was fifth and third at the Missouri Invitational in the weight throw and shot put, respectively...Threw 14.65m (48-0.75) in the shot put and 16.50m (54-1.75) in the weight throw at the Kentucky Rod McCravy Memorial Meet to place 22nd and ninth, respectively...Her second-best toss of the season in the shot put came at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, where she placed third with a mark of 14.70m (48-2.75)...Threw a season's best of 14.89m (48-10.25) in the shot put at the SEC Championships, placing 11th overall
Outdoor Track- Started the season at the Missouri Relays, where she competed in the hammer, discus, and shot put...Placed seventh in both the shot put and discus at the Arkansas Spring Invitational, and tenth in the hammer with a toss of 50.52m (165-9)...Threw a season's best mark of 14.98m (49-1.75) in the shot put at the ESU Mid-Week Open to place fourth, and earned a PR of 52.58m (172-6) in the hammer to take fifth...Threw a season's best 48.99m (160-9) in the discus at the Drake Relays, taking ninth overall...Closed out the season at the SEC Championships, finishing 12th in both the shot put and discus, and 17th in the hammer
Indoor Track- Competed at the Missouri Relays for her only meet of the season, earning seventh in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw.
Outdoor Track- Earned another personal-record in the hammer during the outdoor season, throwing 49.68m (162-12) at the Tom Botts Invitational, good for 11th overall...Katie also competed in the shot put and discus during the season, earning her shot put season-best at the ESU Mid-Week Open, where she took third place with a throw of 14.89m (48-10.25)...Her season-best in the discus was at Kip Janvrin Open where she threw 48.64m (159-7) to take third place...Katie ended her season at the Big 12 Championships, where she competed in both the shot put and hammer throw.
Indoor Track- Competed in the shot put and weight throw during the season, reseting her personal-bests in both events...Tossed 15.17m (49-9.25) in the shot put at the Big 12 Championships, a new PR, earning her 11th overall...Threw 16.57m (54-4.25) in the weight throw at the Bill Bergan Invitational, earning eighth overall and another PR.
Outdoor Track- Competed in two events during the outdoor season, the first being the CMU Open, where she placed fifth in both the shot put and discus with throws of 13.15m (43-1.75) and 43.66m (143-2.75), respectively...Finished her season out at the Kansas Relays, where she took ninth in the discus, eighth in the shot put.
Indoor Track- Katie earned an All-Big 12 honor for the shot put in her first season as a Tiger after finishing seventh seventh with a personal-best throw of 15.15m (49-8.5), a mark just shy of the NCAA Provisional Qualifying distance...Held the team's top five shot put marks on the season, including event-winning throws of 14.77m (48-5.5) at the Bill Bergan Invitational and 14.55m (47-9) at the MU KU Border Dual...She was also the first collegiate finisher at both the Missouri Invitational and the Missouri Collegiate Challenge with throws of 14.60m (47-11) and 14.77m (48-5.5), respectively...She finished second behind former Tiger All-American Krishna Lee at both of those meets...Her second-best throw of the season came at the Adidas Classic, where she measured in at 15.08m (49-5.75), claiming second place in the event...Competed in the weight throw as well during the season, doing so at three meets...Her season-best in the event came at the Adidas Classic when she threw 14.42m (47-3.75).
Outdoor Track- Katie was an All-Big 12 honoree in the discus and shot put, making her the only Tiger to qualify for the NCAA Championships in two events...Her personal-best and NCAA-qualifying mark of 49.33m (161-10) in the discus came at the Big 12 Championships where she finished fourth overall...She followed that with an eighth place showing in the shot put with a throw of 14.67m (48-1.75), earning All-Big 12 in both events...Her personal-best mark in the shot put came at the Oregon Pepsi Invitational when she threw 14.83m (48-8) to win the event in dominating fashion...Katie also competed in the hammer throw, and turned in a top performance of 43.41m (142-5).
Competed at Putnam County R-1 HS for coach Jamie Tipton...Katie helped lead her team to three Tri-Rivers Conference Championship titles (2007-2009)...As an individual, she was a three-time MSHSAA 2A State Champion in discus (2007, 2009) and shot put (2009)...She also went on to earn All-American honors in the shot put (2009)...She also holds a pair of MSHSAA state championship meet records, first with a shot put toss of 14.19m (46-7) during her junior season, and second with a toss fo 48.89m (160-5) in the discus that same season...She was First Team All-Conference, All-District, and All-Sectional in each of her four years for both shot put and discus...She also played basketball during high school, and led her team to a District Championship (2008)...he was a member of National Honors Society and an honor roll student all four years of high school
