Indoor: (as of 3/11) NCAA qualifier for the second-consecutive year in the men's weight throw ... marked season's best of 68-1½ (20.77m) in winning the Cyclone National Qualifer to qualify for the national meet ... placed third at the Big 12 Indoor with the weight for the second-straight year and in the top five for the third- straight ... became a six-time All-Big 12 performer with an additional fifith-place league showing with the shot, marking season's best 56-2¼ (17.13m) ... winner of the Kansas Invitational shot put.

2007:
Outdoor: NCAA regional qualifier in the hammer throw for third-straight season, placing seventh this time, having season's best of 202-11 (61.87m) at the Butler Twilight ... placed ninth at the Big 12 Championships in the shot put (52-8¼, 16.06m) ... had season best shot put mark of 53-½ (16.17m) at the Arizona State Invitational ... honored as a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American ... also named to the Big 12's Spring "Good Works" Team ... placed seventh and tenth at the Kansas and Drake Relays, respectively.

Outdoor: NCAA Regional qualifier with both shot put and hammer throw ... placed ninth in the regional with the hammer throw, marking 196-0 ... earned All-Big 12 honors with fourth-place conference finish, throwing hammer 202-4 (61.68m) ... had four meets over 200 feet with hammer ... 13th at Big 12 Championships with shot put ... captured personal best with hammer of 206-4 (62.90m) at Tom Botts Invite ... grabbed personal best with the shot at Missouri Relays with 55-9¾ (17.01m) toss. Outdoor: Earned NCAA regional marks in both the shot put and hammer throw ... had personal-best put at the Big 12 Championships with an impressive 54-7½ mark for the freshman, coming in 13th in the tough field at the conference meet ... was 12th in the conference meet with the hammer (181-4) ... personal-best with the hammer came at the Tom Botts Invitational (186-8) ... placed 22nd with the shot and 21st with the hammer at the regional championships ... also threw discus twice ... USTCA All-Academic award winner. Adcock Named Midwest Regional Athlete of the Year

Tiger senior combined-event standout Nick Adcock (Kansas City, Mo.) has been honored as the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Regional Field Athlete of the Year, as announced Tuesday (March 9). Adcock is the second-straight Tiger to take home this award as former Tiger All-American Chris Rohr was the recipient of the award in 2009. The award recognizes the top male and female track and field athletes from the nine different regions across the nation, along with assistant and head coaches.

Three Tigers Headed to NCAA Championships

Three student-athletes will represent the Mizzou track and field program at the 2010 NCAA Indoor National Championships set for this weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., as announced by the NCAA Monday night (March 8). Nick Adcock (Kansas City, Mo.) and Lars Rise (Trondheim, Norway) will represent the Tiger men at the Championships while Shannon Leinert (Eureka, Mo.) will run for the Tiger women. Competition at the championships will begin Friday (March 12) at 10 a.m.

Cross Country Honored For Academics

After Tiger freshman Kaitie Vanatta (Littleton, Colo.) was honored for her academic success last week, both the Mizzou men's and women's cross country teams have been honored by the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic teams, which were announced Monday (March 8). The women's team was one of 176 programs to earn the distinction nationally while the men's team was one of 135 honorees, an all-time high for men's programs since the inception of the award.

Tigers Wrap up Last Chance Meet

03/06/2010 - Track

With hopes of improving their NCAA Championship hopes, a select few members of the Mizzou track and field team wrapped up competition at the ISU Last Chance Meet on Saturday (March 6) inside Lied Recreation Center. The Tigers had plenty of entries in both the men's and women's 800m runs and both Layne Moore (Emporia, Kan.) and Aaron Dixon (Lee's Summit, Mo.) placed third overall in the race.

Track & Field Ready for Last Chance Meet

03/03/2010 - Track

One week after the Big 12 Indoor Championships, the Mizzou track and field team will send a select group of individuals to the Last Chance Meet in Ames, Iowa, in hopes of improving the select individuals NCAA Championships qualifying marks. The meet will be held Saturday (March 6) at the Lied Recreation Center and will mark the fourth time this season that the Tigers will compete at Iowa State.
