Indoor Track- Started the season with a 1st place finish in the weight throw at the MU KU Dual, hitting 18.40m...Followed that with 2nd and 3rd place performances at the Illini Classic and Texas A&M Invitational, respectively...Earned a new personal record at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, taking 1st place with a throw of 19.49m, besting his previous record by over two meters...Ended the season with a Big 12 title, winning the competition with a throw of 19.26m.
Outdoor Track- Continued the trend of 1st place finishes after the indoor season with a winning hammer throw of 55.65m at the CMU Open...Went on to take 1st in the hammer throw at the Missouri Relays with a mark of 58.29m, and 3rd at the Arkansas Spring Invitational with a throw of 56.96m...Competed in the discus at the LSU Invitational and Tom Botts Invitational...Took 4th in the hammer throw at Tom Botts, finishing with a 58.37m throw...Earned his third All-Big 12 honor in the hammer throw, taking 3rd with a new personal record of 61.50m...Finished the season at the NCAA Preliminary Round, where he finished the hammer throw with a mark of 58.21m.
Indoor Track- Jacob had a great season as he reset 2 personal-bests in the throws, highlighted by a season-best toss of 17.65m in the weight throw at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, placing him 2nd in the event...Finished just two spots shy of All-Big 12 honors in the weight throw with a toss of 17.43m at the Big 12 Indoor Championships...Set a personal-best in the shot put at the MU-KU Border Dual, checking in at 12.68m.
Outdoor Track- Jacob built upon his strong indoor season and once again tallied personal-best marks in two events...Earned All-Big 12 honors in the hammer throw with a 6th place finish after throwing 59.04m, earning him a qualifying spot at the NCAA Championship Preliminary Round...Reset his personal-best in the discus at the Kip Janvrin Open, tossing 50.40m, placing 3rd overall.
Indoor Track- His season-best mark of 16.40m (53-93/4) came at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, where he placed 5th...His 2nd best mark was at the season-opening Missouri Invitational, where he threw 16.38m (53-9) to earn 7th...He also competed at the MU-KU Border Dual, where he threw 15.50m (50-101/4), and the Bill Bergan Invitational, where he was measured at 15.23m (49-113/4)...He finished the season at the Big 12 Indoor Championships, where he threw 15.12m (49-71/4).
Outdoor Track- Jacob turned out an All-Big 12 performance in the hammer throw, putting down a huge new personal-best mark of 55.16m (180-11), 4.0m better than his previous best throw, to take 8th...His 2nd best throw came at the Arkansas Twilight, when he hit 51.52m (169-0)...He also competed in the hammer throw at the Oregon Pepsi Invitational, throwing 51.35m (168-5), and eclipsed the 50m at the Missouri Relays when he measured in at 50.64m (166-1)...Also competed in the discus throw during the regular season, turning in a personal-best of 48.34m (158-7) at the Missouri Relays.
Indoor Track- Competed in the weight throw at the Missouri Invitational, where he placed 11th with a mark of 14.15m...Ended the season at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge, where he took 7th with a throw of 13.92m.
Outdoor Track-Did not compete
Competed for Jackson HS under coach Nathan Norman...Jacob was a two-time MSHSAA State Qualifier in the discus (2007, 2008), and earned an All-State honor with a 5th place finish (2008)...He was a two-time SEMO Conference Champion in the discus (2007, 2008)...High school best for the discus is 167-8.
