WICCCA Academic All-American ... season bests: 6k, 20:59, NCAA Pre-Nat. Academic All-Big 12 ... named Big 12 Runner of the Week twice, for a total of three times in the career. Outdoor: Redshirt season. Indoor: All-Big 12 in mile run after second place finish (4:45.03) ... four event wins over season mixed between middle to long distance races ... never finished below second in 800-, Mile, or 3000-meter run ... had a personal best of 9:17 in the 3000m after competing once.

2002:
Cross Country: Named All-Midwest Region after finishing third at NCAA Regional (20:39.1) ... season average mile of 5:36.71 was best of any Missouri runner since 1995 ... of Missouri runners, finished first in five of seven meets, placed second in two others ... in four of six meets, finished in top 10 overall ... while running sick, she finished 23rd at the Big 12 Championships ... finished 53rd at NCAA Championships ... Beat 79 other athletes to finish first at Lakefront Invitational (17:13.0, 5k) ... finished second at Missouri CC Challenge (17:22.9). Outdoor: All-Big 12 in the 800m with a seventh-place finish (2:10.96). Indoor: Bales had her personal best in the 800m in both the Missouri Triangular and the KU-KSU-MU Triangular ... competed in the 800m at the Big 12 Conference meet.
