The Mizzou track and field program wrapped up day two at the USA Track & Field Championships (USATF) on Friday (June 25) at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, and received a nice performance from senior Nick Adcock (Kansas City, Mo.) in the men's decathlon. After the first five events in the decathlon, Adcock sits in seventh-place overall with 3,932 points, ranking him among some of the world's best decathletes.

Mizzou's Aaron Dixon (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Blake Irwin (Bettendorf, Iowa) wrapped up their action at the USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships on Thursday (June 24) by placing in the top 25 of the men's 800m run at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mizzou track and field senior Shannon Leinert (Eureka, Mo.) was honored as an ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American selection as announced on Thursday (June 24) by CoSIDA. Leinert earned a spot on the third team after compiling a 4.00 grade-point-average while remaining one of the top 800m runners in the nation. Of the 45 student-athletes honored across the three Academic All-American teams, Leinert was one of 13 to boast a perfect GPA.

After a successful NCAA season in 2010, several members of the Mizzou track and field program - along with a slew of Mizzou post-collegians - will continue their season at the USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, from June 23-27. Current Tigers Nick Adcock (Kansas City, Mo.), Blake Irwin (Bettendorf, Iowa) and Aaron Dixon (Lee's Summit, Mo.) will all compete alongside several of the Tigers' most accomplished post-collegiate athletes at the meet.

University of Missouri head track and field coach Rick McGuire announced today (June 18) that Jared Wilmes is stepping down from his position as head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach. Wilmes will step down in July and at that time current cross country and track and field assistant coach Rebecca Wilmes will be named interim head men's and women's cross country coach.
