Tami Chievous started working for working for the Total Person Program in July 2001. As Assistant Director for Academic Services, Chievous coordinates all the academic support services for the Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball programs, as well as softball. She works closely with the student-athletes monitoring their academic progress, coordinating study hall, assigning mentors and tutors, communicating with faculty and advising students one-on-one about course work and majors selection.
Chievous graduated from Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1999. She went on to pursue a master's degree in educational administration from FHSU in 2001. She served as the assistant to the Academic Counselor/Compliance Coordinator at FHSU for three years. She also worked as a student-assistant for the women's basketball team for four seasons during her undergraduate study. Chievous was a teaching assistant for the department of Education Administration for two years. She also worked as an administrative assistant for the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator for 2000-01 season.
She is married to Derrick Chievous. They are the proud parents of two sons, Tahki and Aven, and a daughter, Malia.
