Mizzou has a proud academic tradition. Last year, seven out of Mizzou's 20 sport teams led the Big 12 conference in APR and 11 of 20 sport programs finished in the top three in the conference in their respective sport. Some other highlights:
- 2.80 overall student-athlete GPA
- 10 sports above a 3.00 team GPA
- 217 (46%) student athletes received a 3.00 or higher GPA
- 80 students received Academic All-Conference recognition (Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Gymnastics, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track, Wrestling)
- 217 student athletes were recognized on the Fall 2009 Commissioner’s Honor Roll
- 149 students were recognized on their respective dean’s list (Second most all time)
- MU achieved a 2009 Graduation Success Rate of 75%
- Missouri junior Abby Vock was named as the recipient of the inaugural NCAA Elite 88 award for softball
