Interviews
Following all events INSIDE OF THE TRACK, including all track events, high jump, long jump, triple jump and javelin, student-athletes will be escorted to the "Mixed Zone" area where they may be asked to participate in interviews. Per NCAA guidelines, all student-athletes are permitted to a 10-minute cooling-off period following the race/event, but may forego the wait time.
The top five athletes in each final (top three relays) will be escorted first to a holding area for a recognition ceremony before proceeding through the Mixed Zone.
Please make all special interview requests (if holding is needed) to Tom Lewis, Media Coordinator, or another member of the Missouri Media Relations staff.
Only the winner of each event and those who has specifically been REQUESTED will be held for a small-period of time in or near the Mixed Zone.
For field events held OUTSIDE OF THE TRACK, including the hammer throw, shot put, and discus, the interview policy is much more liberal. Student-athletes may be approached following the event for needed interviews. Please observe courtesy to those who will be participating in another event later in the day.
Mixed Zone
A mixed zone will be located adjacent to the media tent to accommodate interview requests during the egional. The winners of each event will hold high priority in being held in the mixed zone for a longer-period of time. Please contact Media Coordinator Tom Lewis if a specific student-athlete should be held in the mixed zone for a longer time, otherwise most student-athletes will quickly process through the zone as a natural occurrence. SEE Interviews
On-Field Access
All media, coaches and non-competitive athletes will be restricted from the infield at all times. Videographers and photographers will be allowed access to the field with a valid photo pass AND a green NCAA armband. SEE Photo Policies
