2001-2002 Basketball Seating Plan
The University of Missouri has re-designed a priority-seating plan that will impact season ticket holders, donors, alumni, and the general public by providing a fair, equitable, and consistent process to allocate priority seat locations. We believe this plan strikes a balance that provides our most loyal and committed fans and our student body a setting of which they can be incredibly proud. Please consult the following information regarding why the Missouri Basketball seating plan will be implemented as well as an explanation of how minimum giving levels were established. Please contact either the Tiger Development Office or the Athletic Ticket Office with questions at the numbers listed below.

Why are we implementing the Missouri Basketball seating plan:
- Our athletic programs belong to the student-athletes and student body first and foremost. For many years, Students have requested additional seating closer to the floor. Students have passed an official Campus Resolution to have seating on the floor and made a formal request with more than 2,000 signatures on a petition presented by the president of the Missouri Students Association. We believe it is time to honor their request.
- Because demand for season tickets is at an all-time high, we believe this is the best time to make sure that everyone who makes the commitment necessary to secure season tickets is treated as fairly as possible. For 20 years, the majority of ticket holders have had to make minimum contributions to have the right to buy season tickets in sections A, B and C at the Hearnes Center. However, some fans that bought tickets in the early years of the Hearnes Center have been excluded from having to make the same level of donation as others who have similar seats by virtue of the "Grandfather Clause."
- We appreciate the loyalty of Missouri Basketball season ticket holders that were exempt from making no donation or giving below the required levels. But we also need to reward the loyalty and commitment of others who have been making the full or even exceeded the required donation. Therefore, in order to be fair and consistent, we are asking those not required to meet minimum donation levels to be phased in over a four-year period of time. We decided that period would allow these loyal fans to phase-in their donations over time so it would not be an immediate burden.
- New season ticket purchases or someone requesting an upgrade will be required to make the minimum per seat donation level listed in the current TSF Manual.
- Four (4) year plan will be incorporated for the 2001-02, 2002-03, 2003-04 basketball seasons while phasing the system into Missouri Athletics' capital campaign and seating plan for a new arena. 2004-05 will be the first year of the seating plan for a new arena.
- We believe establishing minimum donation levels and relocating student seating will strike a balance and provide our alumni, donors, student-athletes, and students a setting in which they can be incredible proud.
- This will obviously mean important additional revenue to the Athletic Department, which will be used for resources that will help build and maintain our scholarship and academic programs and keep our program moving forward to compete at the national level our fans are demanding.
How were minimum donation levels established:
Fall 2000 Survey results: Survey results recommended donation levels for A, B, and C
Analyzed the current average per seat donation A, B and C
Recommendations by Committee of season ticket holders, donors, non-donors, and faculty/staff.
