Tim Hickman is in his 19th year at the University of Missouri and his seventh as Associate Athletic Director for Operations.
Hickman oversees all business activities for the Missouri Department of Athletics, including development and oversight of the budget, purchasing, human resources and daily office operations while additionally directing the operations of Mizzou Arena and the Hearnes Center. He also oversees the areas of facilities, game operations, food service and computing operations. Hickman currently works as the primary administrator with the sports of baseball, softball and soccer. All three finished last year nationally ranked and all three coaches have been named Big 12 Coach of the Year within the past 2 seasons.
Hickman became the Assistant Director of the Hearnes Center in 1990 and spent two years in that role before being named Director of the Hearnes Center. Shortly after Tiger Athletics and Hearnes operations merged, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in July of 2001 and in May of 2002; he was promoted to Associate Athletic Director.
During Hickman's time at Mizzou he has been involved with securing some of the largest concerts ever to come to Columbia including the Rolling Stones, Elton John and Kenny Chesney to name a few. Hickman was also involved with the design and construction of Mizzou Arena. In his role as Chief Financial Officer for the department of Athletics, Hickman has consistently managed a balanced budget that will approach $50,000,000 for Fiscal year 2009.
Along with his duties with MU, Hickman is also been heavily involved in the Columbia community. He serves on the boards of the United Way and the Callaway Bank. He is also a member of the budget and finance committee for the city's Chamber of Commerce. During his tenure, Hickman has also served on numerous boards and committee's including the Mid-Missouri Tourism Council, Missouri Balloon Corporation and the Central Missouri Food Bank to name a few.
A Certified Facility Executive (CFE), Hickman is a past board member of the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) and is a current member of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and the Country Music Association (CMA).
A 1989 graduate of the University of Missouri, Hickman earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He and his wife Karen, also a University of Missouri graduate, have one son, Christopher (13), and one daughter, Anna (10).
