Tim Hickman is in his 25th year at the University of Missouri and is in his third as Executive Associate Athletic Director. He spent the ten previous years as Senior Associate Athletics Director and Associate Athletics Director for Operations and member of the executive team.
Hickman’s current responsibilities include the department facility master plan, capital planning and construction, the department budget, facility operations, IT and technology, and oversight of the baseball, softball and soccer programs. Hickman also served as the point person for the transition into the Southeastern Conference in 2011 and 2012.
Originally from Perry, Mo., Hickman became the Assistant Director of the Hearnes Center in 1990 and spent two years in that role before being named Director of the Hearnes Center. Shortly after Tiger Athletics and Hearnes operations merged, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in July of 2001; in May of 2002, he was promoted to Associate Athletic Director.
Hickman has been involved with the design and construction of nearly all of the sports park improvements over the last 10 years including the award-winning Mizzou Arena and numerous expansions of Memorial Stadium including the new East tower and Columns Club that opened in 2014. In addition he has spearheaded projects involving facilities at baseball, tennis and golf. Hickman was also instrumental in the development of the capital campaign and financial planning for all of the facility upgrades. During Hickman's time at Mizzou he has also been involved with securing some of the largest concerts ever to come to Columbia including the Rolling Stones, Elton John and Kenny Chesney to name a few.
Along with his duties with MU, Hickman is also been heavily involved in the Columbia community. He has served on the boards of the United Way, Columbia Chamber of Commerce and The Callaway Bank among others. Hickman is also active in his church.
Hickman is also active within the industry. He is a frequent speaker and conferences and sports management classes at MU. He is also a Certified Facility Executive (CFE) and a past board member of the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) and is a current member of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and a voting member of the Country Music Association (CMA).
A 1989 graduate of the University of Missouri, Hickman earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. He and his wife Karen, also a University of Missouri graduate, have one son, Christopher (19), and one daughter, Anna (17).
