Starred as Norm Stewart's point guard from 1977-80, before going on to a long NBA career. Paced the Tigers to a Big Eight Tournament championship in 1978, then was the senior veteran on the first of four straight MU conference championship teams in 1980. As a junior and senior, won MU's Sparky Stalcup Award for inspirational leadership, as well as the Tigers' MVP award. Was Mizzou's leading scorer in 1979, and is the only Tiger ever to lead the team three straight years in assists. Se the school record with 12 assists in memorable upset of Notre Dame in the 1980 NCAA Tournament. A native of Kansas City, Kan., Drew was a first-round draft choice of the Detroit Pistons, and also played professionally with the KC/Sacramento Kings, L.A. Clippers, L.A. Lakers and in Europe. Closed his pro career in 1991, with the Lakers, then took over as head of the Magic Johnson Foundation. Rejoined the Lakers as an assistant coach, last season, where he works with former MU all-American Anthony Peeler.
