Mike Alden Selected for Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Induction

Mizzou AD Joins Several Others With Tiger Ties in the Current Class

MU's head football coach from 1958-70 and director of athletics from 1966-70. In 13 seasons at MU, he had a record of 93-37-7 with Big Eight championships in 1960 and '69. During the decade of the 1960's, MU was the only team in the country never to lose more than three games in a season, and had the eighth-best winning percentage (.762). His teams appeared in six bowl games. Nine of his teams finished the season ranked in the top-20, with best of 4th (AP) and 5th (UPI) in 1960. He coached eight all-Americans and 49 all-Big Eight players during his days at MU. Devine left MU to coach the NFL's Green Bay Packers, then later returned to collegiate football at Notre Dame, where he coached the Irish to the national title in 1977. Devine was named to the State of Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1973, and the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame in 1985.
