Came to Mizzou from rural Moose Lake, Minn. as an unpolished talent, but used an impeccable work ethic and drive to become a leader of a program still in its early stages ... Named 1st-Team All-Big Eight in both 1983 and 1985, and also earned Big Eight All-Tournament Team honors in 1983 ... Was the program's first-ever Academic All-American, earning the honor in 1985 ... Also earned Academic All-Big Eight honors in both 1984 and 1985 ... Despite 20-plus years having passed since she played, still holds many records and a significant place on the school match, season and career records listings ... Holds the MU career record for solo blocks (124), and still ranks second today in block assists (320), total blocks (444), blocks per game (1.40) and hitting percentage (.308) ... Is the MU season record holder in solo blocks (56), block assists (173), total blocks (229) and blocks per game (1.99) ... Also still ranks among the top-10 season leaders in digs, digs per game, service aces and hitting percentage ... Holds MU single-match records for digs, block solos and block assists to this day, as well ... Was a co-captain as a senior ... Was a reserve on a team that was ranked as high as #15 in 1982 and won 26 matches - the fourth-most in school history ... The 1983 team she starred on equaled that feat as well ... After graduating from Mizzou, went on to earn a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois, and currently works at the University of Minnesota.
