COLUMBIA, Mo. - MUTigers.com introduces a new mobile experience for Tiger fans with iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry devices. The official mobile application of Missouri Athletics offers iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry owners easy and instant access to up-to-the-minute news, scores, live game play-by-play, stats, schedules, rosters and photo galleries for the 2011-12 school year. The new mobile application is free to download from the iPhone App Store, Android Market, or BlackBerry App World, and users can enhance their experience by purchasing access to live audio broadcasts within the app.
The application provides iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry owners an interface that gives them immediate mobile access to essential information from MUTigers.com, the official athletic web site of Missouri Athletics. Fans no longer have to wait until they have access to a computer or television to keep up with their favorite Tiger sport.
iPhone and Android users can get access to live audio broadcasts with a paid in-application upgrade. The live audio upgrade costs $0.99 per month for iPhone users, $4.99 per year for Android users.
The free mobile application will include access to the following features:
- Live game scoring
- Previous game and next game schedules and scores
- Live scoring updates
- Play-by-play coverage when game is live
- Player and team stats for football games on both iPhone and Android
- Player and team stats for other sports on Android only
- Box Score
- Video On Demand (not available for BlackBerry)
- Schedules and scores
- Photo galleries
- In-app alert system
- Sharing via email and Facebook
- Future versions will include Twitter sharing
Once downloaded, fans can purchase the live audio upgrade within the application by clicking “Purchase Sports Audio” and following the purchase process. Once the upgrade is purchased, fans can immediately access audio broadcasts through the “Audio/Video” or “Games” tab. Audio broadcasts are subject to availability of online and mobile broadcast rights (not available for BlackBerry).
The official iPhone application of Missouri Athletics is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices and requires iPhone OS 4.2 or above. The Android version is compatible with any Droid device running Android 2.2 or above. The BlackBerry version is compatible with OS 5.0 or above.
