McDonnell Named NATA District Director

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Eric McDonnell, ATC, has been elected as a District Director of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and will begin serving his four-year term in 2011. As director of District 5, which includes seven states, he will serve on NATA's Board of Directors and help make decisions that affect the organization and athletic trainers nationwide.

McDonnell is in his 28th year as an athletic trainer in the athletic department at Mizzou and holds a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from the University of Missouri.

McDonnell currently serves as NATA Governmental Affairs Chair nationally and is President of NATA District 5 (Mid America Athletic Trainers Association). He was inducted in the Missouri Athletic Trainers Association's Sports Medicine Hall of Fame in 2003.

The National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) is the professional membership association for certified athletic trainers and others who support the athletic training profession. Founded in 1950, the NATA has grown to more than 30,000 members worldwide today. The majority of certified athletic trainers choose to be members of the NATA - to support their profession, and to receive a broad array of membership benefits.
