Columbia, Missouri has a prominent location on the Sporting News list of the Best Sports Cities as highlighted in the latest issue of the magazine. The home of the Tigers ranks No. 56 overall, and is the fourth-highest among Big 12 Conference cities.

Columbia trails only the Denver/Boulder, Colo. area (No. 18), Oklahoma City/Norman, Okla. area (No. 37) and Austin, Texas (No. 38) among Big 12 schools on the list, which Sporting News magazine has issued annually since 1993.
