Photos from Football Semi Trip to Arkansas

Sept. 16, 2005

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Several members of the extended Mizzou family completed the trip to Springdale, Ark., and back to deliver two semi trailers full of relief supplies to a FEMA-approved distribution facility, where the will then be distributed to families affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The first trailer -- the football team's equipment semi that was to lie dormant from the squad's win at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 3 until the team's road trip to Stillwater, Okla., on Oct. 8 -- was filled on Tuesday during the athletic department's relief drive that was held in the Schnuck's parking lot. Community response to the drive was so overwhelming that overflow donations were stored overnight at the Central Missouri Food Bank while a second trailer was secured.

Five individuals drove the two trailers down to Arkansas. Special thanks go to Tom Sites, who normally drives the Tigers' semi on road trips; Pastor Jeanne Coffman; and Mike Kelly, Tim Bunton and Jay Snyder of the athletic department!
