Sept. 3, 1999
COLUMBIA, MO., Sept. ___ -- As the 1999 football season prepares to kick off tomorrow, when the Missouri Tigers host the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers on Faurot Field, Mizzou Sports Properties has announced an expansion of its Tiger Network to bring all of the action to fans across the State of Missouri and beyond.
One of the nation's largest collegiate radio networks, the Tiger Network now includes 57 stations, with 13 newcomers joining the fold.
Also, Mike Behymer, general manager of Mizzou Sports Properties, has announced a two-year extension of its broadcast agreement with 550 KTRS-AM in St. Louis. The new agreement extends the exclusive broadcast rights in the St. Louis market to KTRS for all University of Missouri football games for 1999 and 2000, and basketball games and post-season play through the 2000-2001 season.
"Mizzou Sports Properties is excited about the extension of our agreement with 550 KTRS-AM," Behymer said. "This partnership will continue to provide our St. Louis metropolitan fans with exciting Mizzou sports action."
KTRS President and General Manager Tim Dorsey said, "KTRS is very excited to continue our broadcast partnership with the University of Missouri and Mizzou Sports Properties. It's been a great two years with the Tiger football success and bowl appearances, and we look forward with great anticipation to Quin Snyder's success with the basketball Tigers."
