DALLAS -- A University of Missouri football television ad for the 2007 season featuring former tailback Tony Temple and Head Coach Gary Pinkel was named best in the nation today by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Board of Directors. The :30 second television commercial, titled "Speed", featured Temple dashing quickly around a stationary Pinkel, in order to show the speed and quickness the Tigers had in store for what would prove to be a memorable 2007 season.
The gold medal-winning ad was selected from three finalists, and from numerous submissions of all collegiate sports ads from across the nation.
The award was handed out today in Dallas, Texas, at the 17th annual NACMA Convention. On hand to accept the award was Director of Marketing Andrew Grinch, as well as Assistant Directors Emily Hawkins and Scott Nielson.
The commercial was produced by Komnenich Films of Chicago, Jack Smith Creative Services, and Mizzou Athletics with assistance from Baker Film & Video of Columbia.
