COLUMBIA, Mo.- The University of Missouri and KMOX Radio (AM-1120) in St. Louis have extended their radio broadcasting rights agreement. Mizzou Sports Properties, the multi-media rights holder of the University of Missouri Athletic Department, and KMOX announced today that they have extended their contract for an additional three years. KMOX will continue to carry Missouri's football games and 13 men's basketball games. KMOX has also renewed its agreement to partner with KFNS (590) and KFNS-FM 100.7) to carry the balance of the games. KFNS' new co-owned station, KRFT-AM (1190), will now air the Missouri Scoreboard Show in the St. Louis Market.
In additional to football and men's basketball games, other Mizzou programming includes pre- and post-game shows, the Scoreboard Show and Tiger Talk; a weekly show featuring football coach Gary Pinkel and men's basketball coach Quin Snyder. Mike Kelly continues to lead the broadcast team as the play-by-play announcer for both the football and men's basketball broadcasts.
"This is truly a fantastic partnership for the University of Missouri," said Director of Athletics Mike Alden. "It is a pleasure working with Karen Carroll and all of the great people at KMOX."
KMOX's 50,000-watt signal reaches much of the Midwest and most of the United States at night with a format of News, Talk and Sports. KMOX has the largest audience share of any station in the top 30 markets in the United States. KFNS AM/FM and KRFT AM are dedicated to providing the region with All-Sports programming.
