COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri athletic sports medicine department was named the Big 12 Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year for the 2010-11 academic year. The award is voted on by the athletic medical staffs at each Big 12 school.
Missouri is the Big 12's first two-time winner of the award, after also taking top honors in 2000.
"I find it very gratifying to be recognized by the athletic health care professionals of our peer institutions for our continuing efforts to provide excellent athletic injury prevention, injury management, injury treatment, and injury rehabilitation for our Mizzou student-athletes," said Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine Rex Sharp.
