MU Sports Medicine to Hold 4th Annual Camp

May. 2, 2005

The University of Missouri Sports Medicine Program will be hosting its 4th Annual Tiger Sports Medicine Camp. The Camp will be held on June 5 - 7, 2005 at the University of Missouri - Columbia campus. Rex Sharp, the Director of Sports Medicine, will head up the workshop staff, which will consist of MU's collegiate certified athletic trainers and team physicians.

Students with little or no experience in athletic training will have opportunities to broaden their knowledge through an intensive training curriculum. Athletic taping labs will teach students optimal taping techniques for various areas of the body, and classroom lectures will take a close look at human anatomy and the physiological interaction between bone and muscle. Student Athletic Trainers will have a better understanding of how injuries occur and why the body responds better to certain training techniques. The basic athletic training camp will be held from June 5 - 7. The cost of the camp will be $250.00. Camp registration forms will be mailed upon request or printed off the internet.
