April 9, 1999

COLUMBIA, Mo.- Six University of Missouri student-athletes have been named National Strength and Conditioning All-Americans by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. The prestigious award program recognizes outstanding male and female athletes who have excelled in their strength training and conditioning. Selections are also based on community involvement, academic achievement, and leadership qualities.

Devin West and Todd Neimeyer of the Missouri football team headline the group. Also among those chosen were Andrea Czarnik (soccer), Rene Rosinski (volleyball), Kim Slover (softball) and Darren File (track and field).

"Having six student athletes receive this award really says something about our strength and conditioning program," said head strength and conditioning coach Don Sommer. "All of them are very deserving of the award because of their dedication to the program."
