Columbia, Mo. -Missouri junior Jodie Heinicka and sophomore Amanda Pezullo were named this week's Lathrop & Gage student-athlete's of the week. Both members of the women's gymnastics team hold above a 3.0 grade-point average, excel in the gym and give back to their local community through hours of volunteer service.

Heinicka, a native of Seminole, Fla., is a physical therapy major with a 3.20 grade-point average. A strong competitor on the vault and uneven bars, Heinicka tied the team's highest score of the evening on uneven bars with a 9.70 at the Penn State Invitational last Saturday night in State College, Pa. Outside of the gym, Heinicka is a member of the Voluntary Action Center-Holiday Family Sponsor Program, donates her time to the Columbia Public School system and Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) Canned Food Drive and still manages time to serve as her team's SAAC representative.

Strongest on the beam, Pezullo (Wheaton, Ill.) holds a career-high mark of 9.825 on the apparatus and looks to top her freshman score this season through one of the Tigers' seven remaining meets. Pezullo is a psychology major with a 3.42 grade-point average and spends her free time assisting with youth clinics, the Columbia Boys and Girls Club and the Coaches vs. Cancer campaign.

The women's gymnastics team will return to competition at home in the Hearnes Center, Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. (CT) against the University of Illinois. For ticket information to any of Missouri's upcoming sporting events, visit the website at www.mutigers.com or call 1-800-CAT-PAWS.
