Well it has been less than a month of being in college and already we have been through a blizzard, three college snow days, and we are just kicking off the spring workouts. Needless to say it has been an eventful college experience so far! I have quickly learned that being a student athlete is harder than it seems between practice, workouts, class and then study hall - but I love it! Luckily for Jade and me (being the new "freshies" and all), the girls have really welcomed us into the team with open arms and made the transition from high school to college very easy. I can already tell that we will end up being like a family, and I am very grateful for that. Each is very special in their own way and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone more!

This semester we practice and work out in the morning, so all of our classes are in the afternoon. I didn't really know what to expect, but I really like how we get to wake up and get our exercise in. It is a very good jump-start to the day. Working out at the MATC has been awesome! The facilities are amazing, especially the weight room where music is constantly blasted (Pip dancing to whatever is on makes it even better, haha), and the training room where Jade and I experienced our first real full-body ice bath. Even abs workouts are fun when we are singing like gospel singers for everyone to hear. One tradition I really like is the Tiger Challenge (shout out to the BLACK TEAM AYYOOO). It is super competitive which is great because it means we are all competitors in pretty much everything we do, so I can only imagine what will happen when we all get out on the court next season! Last year's team had a really great season, breaking records and finishing in the NCAA Sweet 16. I know that with this group we will continue this tradition of excellence and pick up where the very talented seniors left off at leaving their mark on the program.  With the strong seniority and leadership, and the rest of Jades' and my class, 2011 will prove to be a very good season for the Tigers - I can feel it!
