Tigers in the NFL - Week 13

As the 2010 Tigers received an invitation to Tempe, Ariz., for the Dec. 28 Insight Bowl against Iowa, a crop of former Mizzou stars made key defensive contributions in the NFL. Another former Tiger led his team in receiving as the season enters is final quarter.

Danario Alexander, WR

St. Louis Rams

Alexander caught two passes for 20 yards Sunday in the Rams' 19-6 over division rival Arizona.  On the year, Alexander has 11 catches for 95 yards and a touchdown.

 

Chase Daniel, QB

New Orleans Saints

Daniel did not play Sunday in the Saints' 34-30 win in Cincinnati. Serving as the top backup to Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees, he has appeared in one game with the New Orleans offense this year, gaining 16 yards on his only rushing attempt. 

 

Justin Gage, WR

Tennessee Titans

Gage caught one pass for 25 yards Sunday as the Titans lost 17-6 to visiting Jacksonville. For the season, Gage has 259 receiving yards on 18 catches.

 

Ziggy Hood, DE

Pittsburgh Steelers

Hood posted three tackles, including his first sack of the year, in Pittsburgh's 13-10 win over Baltimore.  He has 13 stops this season, his second in the league.

 

Jeremy Maclin, WR

Philadelphia Eagles

Maclin hauled in five passes for 68 yards in Philly's 34-24 victory against Houston on Thursday night. On the year, Maclin has 56 catches for 820 yards and eight touchdowns, all team highs. He also has carried the ball three times for 36 rushing yards.

 

William Moore, S

Atlanta Falcons

Moore had seven tackles, including six solo stops, in the Falcons' 28-24 win Sunday at Tampa Bay. In 2010, Moore has 50 stops, a forced fumble and four picks.

 

Brad Smith, WR

New York Jets

The former Mizzou QB returned seven kicks for 140 total yards and picked up two yards on his only rushing attempt as the Jets lost Monday night to New England. On the season, he has four receptions for 44 yards, 28 rushing attempts for 218 yards and a touchdown, and 41 kick returns for 1,132 yards and a score.

 

Justin Smith, DE

San Francisco 49ers

Smith had four tackles Sunday in the 49ers' loss to Green Bay, including half a sack. In 2010, he has 51 tackles, including 5.5 sacks.

 

Sean Weatherspoon, LB

Atlanta Falcons

'Spoon had one solo tackle Sunday in Atlanta's win. Overall, the first-year linebacker has 33 tackles and a sack in seven games.
