Hope everyone is getting used to the new pace of 2010! I went home for winter break and had a lot of fun with my parents and friends; I haven't seen some of them for almost three years! Now I'm back to school. The first coupe days when I came back, I couldn't adjust to the time difference very well. I always woke up in the very early morning. Fortunately, we don't have practice in the first week of school. And I'm totally fine now! The classes of this semester are a little challenging for me.
I am very concerned about my public speaking class. But after the first speech, I feel like I'm not horrible at all! :-) Now we have been practicing for two weeks. Everything is getting better than the first week. But we still need to move on to a higher level, and I believe we will. I'm practicing with outside hitters in the individual practices to make me a better all-around player, but don't be surprised if I'm playing as a middle blocker in the games. Coach Paul made us divide into two teams - the Gold Team and Black Team. Catie and Jules are the captains for the Gold team. Vann and I are the captains for the Black Team. We are competing with the other team on schoolwork, social responsibilities and practice performance. It is very helpful to make us better players and better persons at the same time. This year is the year of the Tiger in China. And it is also my senior year playing for Tigers, isn't that cool?! I am very excited for my senior season and I'm working hard to make myself more valuable for the team. And hopefully, my dad can get his visa to come to the US and attend my senior night!
